Mobile : Smartphone : Gionee M2 Marathon

Here is a small budget phone that can deal with maximum of your smartphone needs. Gionee M2 Marathon

Gionee was right to term this series as a marathon runner. It served the purpose of the long lasting battery. Just switch on the power saver mode and use that battery for a long long time.

We know there are better options available , some with better features also.  But none can give you vale for your money like this one would. We used it we tested it. It is something.

Before going to its specification details we would like you to know that we purchased this beast and it delivers whats promised.

Its display is about 5 inches'' ( although we never measured it but it looks big in hands.)

It runs an Android 4.2.2 which means maximum Apps are supported in this phone. ( Sources says it can be upgraded to Android Kitkat and only the authorised service center guys can do the upgrade but didnt get that done. Rooting is always an option but we like to stick to the original product )

It has got 1 GB of ram. Considering the bloatware from the gionee UI on top the Android 4.2 its still works fine without much lagging.

Its got 4GB of user memory available. But still the apps save your files either into SD card or in the system memory . ( to rectify it first hard reset you phone and while you set it according to you just select save to phone memory option. )

It has 8MP back camera. Now we cant say its camera is too good and all. The truth that it has just a decent camera. If you want real good picture then we suggest you get a DSLR for yourself . But regarding the budget of the device its the best in its league. We took pictures of documents and various locations in different light. it gives decent pics. Front 2MP cam for selfies also gives a decent pics. ( Its reliable )

It is a dual sim phone but the best part is that both the slots are different. Now one sim supports the regular large size sim while the other supports the mini one. So if in any situation you need to use either the large or the small one then you need not to worry for that.

Speakers gives good audio quality. Almost clear and loud. Doesn't irritate.

We have the black colour phone and because of the large 4200 mah battery the phone looks like a hulk. ( If you know what i mean ) It looks too thick. You cant complain about its battery support is like no other. Put this phone into power saver mode and use that charge up to 3 days of normal use. We heavily used it and hardly charged it much. But the battery never died that early compared to other phones. Even after having a huge battery we never thought of using it as a otg backup .

Supports most of the movies and songs no conversion needed.

Now we used this phone like it worth nothing. Didn't charge it much and listened to songs watched movies and after going through all that it even passed the falls. Yeah it fell many a times from high selves to concrete grounds. We think it survived all those falls because of the big battery.
Too much of apps installed , all the memories filled up to its limit. After all that it still survived.

Our verdict on this one is ;

Goods -   1. Best small budget phone.
                2. Value for money.
                3. When outdated it can be the best spare mobile, featuring those multi slot sim, big battery, quick user interference. Will work as a good paper weight when dead.
                 4. Decent camera.
                 5. Supports most the movie formats.

Bad - 1. Has weight.
          2. In time its getting outdated. ( So what won't )

For a small budget you should definitely go for it. For a spare phone with long lasting battery its the best option.
