Journey to Mumbai - The beginning

Hey , just came back from a refreshing vacation in Mumbai.

Known as the Filmcity of the world. Enjoyed a lot and now its time for its review. You peeps can also plan your trip to Mumbai as we will share the cost and budgets of the various places we visited.

To clear things out we had a limited days trip so not all the places were visited. We went to selective ones and those were enough to keep us mesmerised in its memories.

Day 1.

We took a flight to mumbai ( early morning one ) and reached at about 12.30.
The Fun started as soon our flight landed .
Came out of the airport and our first halt was at a fast food joint ( in the airport only )
which sells - Vada Pav , Misal Pav , Omelet Pav , Coffee and Aerated drinks. The most famous street foods of mumbai. Out of which Vada Paw is the King. ( We will share recipes as well. )

Had a Vada Paw with a ' Shukhi Chatni ' . Sort of a dry sauce.  Now that Vada Paw left a taste in our mouths which can never be forgotten. Paw is Bun bread and Vada is a deep fried ball of mashed potatoes and spices. The Shukhi Chutney was made of chillies and spices complimenting the Vada Paw.

The Vada Paw Costed us about RS.60/- including taxes.(Its in the airport)

There on we went to Navi Mumbai , the part of the City were we were staying. We took a cab - Kaali Peeli ( cabs are named after its colour - black and yellow ) Charged us RS.400/-

We rested most of the day.

Here starts the real deal.

One of the cleanest airport we have seen. There were sign boards everywhere to direct the passengers. The TV screen keeps showing the flight schedule. The Security personnels were very polite to every one. Many stores were there. And the terminal was beautiful.

Most of the stores are placed in the open which is good as it keep the boarding check gate empty of unwanted crowd. But then during summers its too hot in this side of the country. From our personal experience we advise that you come to mumbai after summers. Its too hot there. We felt as if we were placed in a oven. Instead of hanky's we used small towels to keep us dry. Apart from the heat everything was just fine.

Tasted one of the best quick snack - Vada Pav.

Now knowing the local language is really important to communicate with the local people. Marathi is used throughout the state of Maharashtra. From booking the cab to ordering a Vadapav , Marathi language came handy. We all know its convenient to book an Uber but still whats the fun in that. Also using the local language will help in bargaining in most of the rural markets.

We rested the entire day because the sun was shining to its brightest. And we needed time to adjust in all this heat.

Note - Prices may vary from place to place.
