The Bajaj 220F the dream of most of the youth of the country. Bidded as :
''Born as the fastest Indian, the pulsar 220F is a performance machine for the true enthusiast. Its powerful 4 strokes, 220 cc DTS-i engine delivers 21Ps power and a healthy 19Nm torque, making it the most powerful bike in its category. Designed for speed and performance , the Pulsar 220 is perfect for dragging in a straight dash or handling corners with panache.''
Ok that being said, we are not gonna talk about the specs and features here as it is available of the company's site in details.

What we are gonna discuss is the real stuff of this product. Now most the people here quote the company Bajaj for bringing cheap racing bikes for the country. (Cheap here doesn't means any thing to offend. Here cheap we refer as to the comparison between the other racing bikes of the world.)
Bajaj gave the first pulsar a 150 cc high torque bike to India. This gained a the company a high sale for the product as being the first of its kind. The youth and the ones who wanted a real fast bike went on to purchase the Pulsar.
After the original Pulsar 150 , the Pulsar 220F is said to be the benchmark product of its class. Offering high performance specs to the people in general. This product reigned supreme over the market and still holds about that position even after years of its launch. The company has introduced many new models after the 220F but none of them have tasted success as the 220F did.
We were lucky enough to get our hands on those bikes . ( Thanking to the owners who let us ride their bikes. ) We rode the newly released RS200 , AS200 and NS200 versions of Bajaj Pulsar , Along with it we rode Yamaha R15 and Hero Karizma ZMR.
Our experience made clear how the 220F is a better option among its successors and other rivals of its class.
Good speed , good grip, good comfort and a confident ride is what the 220F model gave us. When compared to the others they lack in a thing or so.
We went for a ride of about 80 kms up and down and never felt the need to stop to give the bike some rest. We also tortured the bike, taking it on unconstructed roads, climbing hills and even made it jump. It went along fine in every situation.
We found the model sporty and the best part is its design of The headlights. The back seat is also very comfy. Its has a good pick up and top speed around 132.8 km/ps.
Bajaj has a history to be remembered. Starting from those 80's scooter to the revolutionary Pulsar 150 to the Pulsar 220F. It is only left to see that will it be able make iconic products in the future to carry the heritage of its predecessors.
The public here doesn't seems to satisfied with the new versions of the Pulsar. ( Not even us.!! ) They were not able to deliver like the 220F model did. The new ones has a few good features which even the 220F lacked but still we didn't find it as a good performer as the 220F did.
We would suggest the company to carry on the design legacy of the 22F model. They can put a 250 cc engine add some features to the body. Add in the ABS and also the gear indicators. In India slowly the trends of bikes are changing towards the high specs and high performance bikes. Other of their competitors have already making bikes of that category. Bajaj should be developing their plans to dominate that category by now. The New model can be named the 250F becoming the successor of the 220F model. This might be what that company needs to achieve back the dominance they once had on the market.
Also and I quote '' With great power comes great responsibility '' The company should start new ways and terms in order to sell its products. If by any chance the company are in the process of making those high end bikes or the one we just mentioned as the 250cc and a 6th Gear.( For Starting, they should make even more of the high end products ) , they should follow the trend which the online websites use this days to increase their sales. ( WE GOT A FEW IDEAS IN THAT MATTER )
The Pure black or the Ebony black ( whatever they call it ) are the best colours for the 220F according to us.
Bajaj 220F has a huge fan following and we expect them to be loyal to the newer products of the company as well.
At last we would say that it is a wonderful product in its category. Quite dependent it was.
Ride smart Ride safe !!
